Answer - Yes. We believe that your furry friends should be able to accompany you on a beautiful lake day so we allow dogs weighing no more than 20 pounds to ride on the watercraft. However, there is a limit of only two dogs per boat and an additional $50.00 fee per dog.
Do you rent kayaks, jet-skis, or paddle boards?
Answer - No. We do not rent any of these watercraft. We only rent pontoon boat and tubes for boat renters.
Do you rent tubes?
Answer - Yes! We rent two kinds of tubes to accompany your boat rental. Tube rentals start at $30.00 per tube per day. For more information on our tubes please click here. We only rent towables with our boat rental.
When should I arrive for my reservation?
Answer - We suggest arriving approximately 15 minutes early in order for drivers to fill out the necessary paperwork and ensure that all members of your party requiring a life jacket are fully equiped with the necessary gear. We also run through regularory operation instructions as well as safety features. If you will not be arriving on time for your rental, please call and let our staff know so that we are adequately prepared.
What is our cancelation policy?
Answer - Our Cancelation Policy protects you up to 48 hours in advance. Any cancelation after 48 hours before your reservation will be void and you will not be compensated for your rental. We highly recommend getting travel insurance if this is at all a concern for you or your party. Trip insurance allows you to cancel for any reason before your reservation starts the day of your rental for a 100% refund of rental cost. For more information on our policies click here.
Is gas included in the boat rental?
Answer - Our boats come with a full tank of gas. After your rental is returned we fill up the tanks and charge your account for the gas that has been used. We are known offer the cheapest gas on the lake to ensure that our renters are getting the best deal possible.
Is there a late fee charged if the boat is returned late?
Answer - Boats over 20 minutes late beyond their return time will be charged a $75.00 late fee. Each 20 minutes that a party is late will result in an additional $75.00 late fee. This fee will not be waved under any circumstance.
Is full payement charged at booking?
Answer - Yes, full payment is charged the moment you book with us. If you foresee and potential cancelation please do not hesitate to purchase trip insurance for your reservation.
Can we dock the boat during our rental?
Answer - If you are a multi-day renter staying on the lake with a dock we do allow you to keep the boats overnight as long a the dock is preapproved by our staff ahead of time. We do not allow our boats to be operated after dusk or before dawn. We do allow you to anchor the boat in the water to allow time to swim or relax, however, we do not allow you do beach the boats under any circumstance.
Do you allow towables (tubes)?
Answer - Yes! We believe this is a great way to have fun out on the water. We do have some regulations that allow us to keep both you and the boats/equipment safe. We allow a maximum of 2 people to ride on towable with a combined weight no greater than 350 pounds. Any amount over this weight could result in damaging of the towbar as well as the towable itself. What happens in the event of Inclimate weather conditions?
Answer - Lake Chatuge Marina has the right to cancel any reservation in the event of hazardous weather conditions. In the event that a reservation is canceled by Lake Chatuge Marina because of hazardous weather, a credit voucher for the full rental amount will be granted (no monetary refund will be granted unless trip insurance was purchased). Drizzle without lighting or thunder, haze, future weather forecasts and other imperfect conditions are not justifications for weather cancelations by our staff. In the event that you do not show up for your reservation because of weather conditions we do not deem hazardous, you will not be refunded for your rental. In addition, no refund will be provided once a rental has embarked on its voyage. We highly recommend purchasing trip insurance which allows you to cancel the day of the rental reservation.
Do you charge an additional cleaning fee if the boat is returned muddy?
Answer - Yes! We charge a $100 cleaning fee if red mud is tracked onto any of our rental boats. We do this for two reasons. One, red clay is extremely pigmented and if left on the boat can create staining. Two, the boat should never be in shallow enough water in which mud could be tracked onto the vessel. Do you deliver boats to renters?
Answer - No. We do not deliver boats to renters. However, if you are a mulit-day renter and have a pre-approved dock that you plan to keep the boat, you are welcome to come as the driver to the marina to pick up the boat and drive it back to your dock. Only drivers need to be present to pickup the boat. Anyone riding on the boat must sign a waiver. Waivers can be signed digitally online.
As a multi-day renter am I allowed to have my boat out past dark?
Answer - No. We do not permit renters to operate boats after dusk. If we see a rental boat out past dark we will have to cancel the remainder of your reservation and you will not be compensated.
What happens if I am late to my reservation?
Answer - We require that you call us to inform us of your delay. Your time will not be compensated and your reservation begins at your booking time not at your time of arrival. Therefor, no additional time will be added for the time you lost.
